History

1. 19th c.

   Die Bruck

   Originated as a brandy tavern right at the old town bridge over the Schiltach.

2. 1837

   The Koch family

   Abraham Trautwein marries the baker's daughter Katharina and takes over the tavern – the start of the house's Trautwein lineage.

3. 1896 / 1925

   End of rafting

   The last major raft voyage on the Kinzig takes place, followed by a one-off voyage a few years later.

4. 1995

   The Mogler family

   The Mogler family takes over the inn and carries on its tradition.

5. 1998

   Founding of the raftsmen’s association

   Twelve men found the "Schiltacher Flößer e.V." association at the inn, keeping the tradition alive.

6. Today

   Michael Mogler

   Michael Mogler now runs the house with its restaurant, beer garden, and hotel.

I am a trained chef with a master craftsman's certificate and passed through many stations before opening Gasthof zur alten Brücke – among them the Hotel Thum and the airport restaurant at Stuttgart Airport.
